Count

The "Count" function allows you to determine the number of object present in your table (or in your selection)


Syntax : select Count(*) from myTable;


       - Remark : "myTable" is the name of your layer


Example :

       - Goal : We try to know the number of objects present in the layer "dep_france_dom" (the French departments)

       - Syntax : select count(*) AS count FROM dep_france_dom;

       - Remark : By adding "As count" we ask the result of the counting to be stored in a field named "count"

       - Result :



Here, the SQL console returns an alphanumeric result which is stored in a temporary table. When you close the result, it is lost.
