The "Count" function allows you to determine the number of object present in your table (or in your selection)
Syntax : select Count(*) from myTable;
- Remark : "myTable" is the name of your layer
- Goal : We try to know the number of objects present in the layer "dep_france_dom" (the French departments)
- Syntax : select count(*) AS count FROM dep_france_dom;
- Remark : By adding "As count" we ask the result of the counting to be stored in a field named "count"
- Result :
Here, the SQL console returns an alphanumeric result which is stored in a temporary table. When you close the result, it is lost.
